Halloween in the hospital

Nick here...

So my 8th round of chemo took place during Halloween and I had a fun time with it. Many friends and family were there on Halloween to give me some company. All of my friends were dressed up and it was fun to dress up with them and have some fun in the hospital.
I am so anxious to be done with my treatments and cant wait to finish 2 more chemos. I am also eager to finally have my Hickman port removed, which is the tube that goes in my chest and is used like an IV, and be able to swim again or at least get completely wet. Also, I start school at the University of Utah in the beginning of January and I cannot wait. I know all of this is just around the corner but time seems to be going by so slowly now that I am so close. Life never goes slower then when you are sick!
I want to thank my friends, Mom, and Grandma for the company during the holiday and the good time.
The "Brokeback Mountain" theme was a little too much for Rob & Joey!
Nick & Savanna
Jay, the nurse had a great costume! The whole gang!
My fairy godmother was from "Happy Feet", complete with tap shoes!

Good Morning Nick,
We celebrated "All Saints Day Eve" at a King's Hockey Game. There weren't too many fans, the Kings lost, and the Hollywood Freeway was backed up solid. It sounds like you truly did have some saints with you on hallow eve. May the joyful holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas make the last two chemo treatments pass quickly. May the New Year ring in a cancer free year. God bless you and your grateful spirit. Love, aunt Chris

Hello Nick - What a busy time you've been having! Your pics from the Grizzlies were great. Glad you had a good halloween. Before you know it you'll be at college minus your port (YIPPEE!!). Hang in there sunshine - there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to see you one day soon. Love you - Jennie xx

Hey! I just saw your note to me on the ABC site. Next time please leave it in my site so I can see it sooner-http://iamobsessedwithlife.blogspot.com/

Thanks for leaving me one though!

That's cool about Halloween! When I was in BMT, my friends tee-peed a house in my honor ;)-someone who was cruel, even after cancer stuff, one of the few people I dislike in the world, although I don't anymore .

Hello Nick,
The following made its way from Iraq to me via an email. I thought it was encouraging and wanted to share it with you and post it for others. May your site share the hope and joy you exult with all who visit. Love, aunt Chris

G U I D A N C E

This is amazing that someone even thought of this!

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing 'dance' at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw 'G': I thought of God, followed by 'u' and 'i'.
'God, 'u' and 'i' dance.'
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
And I Hope You Dance !

Attention Raitt,
I'm curious how Reserve Duty went this weekend - hopefully your mom's early Thanksgiving dinner bulked you up. May the wisdom of God, the healing of Jesus and the peace of the Holy Spirit be with you and the Huntsman Center crew during your Thanksgiving week of treatment. Love and prayers, aunt Chris
