Militant Blessings

The fairy godmothers stormed Nick's room last night at about 19:30 hours.

In tune, they sang:
"The rhabdo's back but it doesn't know
Nick and his warriors are ready to go.
He'll keep the fight going on and on
Until the rhabdo's finally gone.

Love and faith for Nick abound
the nasty rhabdo won't stay around.
We know right now life's full of strife
but soon you'll be living a normal life.

BOO-YA! Cancer Sucks!"

They came with gifts (an appropriate tee shirt) and dog tags that said, "Nick's Warriors" and "Conquer Cancer".

Also visiting Nick last night were his sisters, Carly & Kelsey;

his friends Cory, Kira, Eric, Kristen & Emily;

and Lee & Mike.

With all 12 of us in the room, Lee, Mike & Cory gave Nick a spiritual blessing which was very moving and touching for all of us in attendence, especially Nick. We closed down the cafeteria afterwards. It was a terrific night. Kudos and thank you's to the godmothers for another creative and highly entertaining show of support - you two are awesome.

Nick is starting to lose his sense of taste, "Hey Mom, this water tastes gross, you try it!" Uh, no thank you. He tried again, "Hey Mom, would you like a sip of water?" I did and it was fine. He said, "Hmmm. Could be maybe the trail mix I ate earlier is just fine, too?" But his hair is cute and curly and his cheeks are rosy pink from the "red devil". So far, so good.

More later. Love Lori

Dear Nick,
With Hope (exemplified by your creative godmothers), Faith (expressed by your family), and Love (given by those who visit you in person or through your blogspot - or both), you will be victorious.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Psalm 20:5
God's continued blessings on you.
Love, aunt Chris

Nick, I spent the morning in meditation and prayer solely focusing on you and your family. I hope you can feel all the love, prayers and healing energy headed your way. Love, Beci :)

Dearest Nick,
I've tried to leave a comment before, let's hope you get this one. I've started a prayer circle here in Portland! Hopefully added with the others, this time around should be a piece of cake.
I want you to know how much I love you! You are the bravest man I know! I've been doing a lot of meditation focused on your body and sending as much healing energy I can. My body is in a full sweat when I'm done, so I'm working hard on making this as successful as last time. You are in my thoughts every day!
Love always,
Aunt Rochelle

Yo Nick,

How about some good news for today? I have raised $1000 for the "fight" and can't wait for Saturday morning. I will be running and thinking of you.

The only easy day was yesterday.

Hi Nick,
Gotta love those fairy godmothers! Just imagine how many people were encouraged when seeing them drive to the Huntsman Center, park their car, walk in the lobby, and bound the stairs and elevator to your room. Please extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to them. They bless so many more than they realize - as do you.
I think the following words from Psalm 61:..2-3 describes what Jennie and Denise do for you by their visits:
"Lead me to the rock that is higher than I; for you are my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy". May love and faith abound on this new day.
Love, aunt Chris
