So today is my first night of 11th round of chemo. I will be here untill saturday as usuall and I can already tell this is going to be another long week. I was suprised when I was weighed today. I am a wopping 145 pounds which is like 5 pounds more than I thought.
After this round of chemo I will have scans done which will determine whether or not I have surgery or not. If there is any sign of growth surgery is where we will most likely go. So this is the time that I am going to ask for all the prayers that I can get. I am almost certain there will be no growth, just because of a gut feeling but I still cannot tell you how much I want this fight to be done with. If scans are clear then I will have one more round of chemo. YES!
I will update again after the godmothers stop by in their costumes. I cant wait to see what they have planned this time.
Thanx everyone!
-Nick

You got it-prayers your way!!
Yes, I played defense in field hockey...I think I probably would have made to varsity for that and basketball had I not gotten sick. My real love was basketball and I was starting 3 pt shooter-good times.
Good luck with trying out! Ice hockey's fun. I love watching the StL Blues :).
Yes, I'm from St. Louis. What part of MO did you go to? And yes, the only good thing is the Univ. of KS (I went there for a semester before relapsing). The rest of the state is BORING! So you are in Utah-I also went there once-Salt Lake City for New Year's Eve one time. I couldn't really ski but had a blast doing other stuff!!
Awesome, yes, I very much look forward to the package from your mom-it's SOO nice of her!!

Good morning sunshine!! 145 pounds is great. You have so many prayers coming your way I'm surprised they haven't knocked you over! I'm with you - no growth - one more round of chemo. PLEEEEEEEEZE...
In the meantime, watch some fun movies, play some fun games, make your stay at Huntsman as short and positive as you can. Your mind is all powerful - and you have great friends to come and keep you company and help make the time pass by quickly. See ya soon - Jennie xx
Hi nick, congrats on the weight gain and good luck with the upcoming scans. I know what that can be like. I had 15 months of treatment for stage IV rhabdo in the sinus (and lungs) last year. I am on the rhabdokids list where your mom just posted about your father. Funny enough my father is always giving me engraved stones. .. not the ones your father is known for, but perhaps where the idea came from. and when i was diagnosed the stone was exactly the size of the primary tumor, 4.5cm. - so when I read about your dad, the connections resonated a bit, and I thought i would write and wish you well. I'm a bit older, 26 at dx and now 28, but I wanted to let you know you are not as alone as you might sometimes feel. And I am also familiar with being under the pressure of high expectations (hope and support) from friends and family - it's a bitter/sweet world sometimes when it comes to fighting a monster of a cancer like rhabdo.
but it looks like you are on a good path and I just wanted to cheer you on from the sidelines a bit.
hope and healing,
Grant
Dear Nick,
There are a lot of whys I don't know the answer to - the following being some of them.
Why, Why, Why , Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead?
Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?
Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?
If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
Why do people constantly return to th e refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
When we are in the supermarket and someone rams ou r ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?"
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?
And my FAVORITE......
The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons are suffering from some sort of mental illness.
Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it 's you.
Now send this on to your friends and make them smile too!
A day without a smile is like a day without sunshine!
I do know why I love you - I love you because you are joyful, willing, helpful, sharing, uplifting, insightful, faithful, and a lover of life. May you have a Happy Valentine's Day. Love, aunt Chris
